In addition to the Festival’s international prizes, as a member of the European Fantastic Film Festivals Federation, it also awards the Silver Méliès for the best European fantastic film.

It's an international short film festival that stands out for its socially oriented themes.
The short films participating in this festival have only one admission category related to social and solidarity themes. Since 2018, we've been using the Festhome platform.

In all these editions, the awarded short film categories have been:

The first edition took place in September 2017, in the evocative location of the Santuario del Sacro Monte in Varese, with Silent Movie projections via headphones, directly in front of the church.

Matula Film Festival is a non-competitive festival and does not grant cash prizes or official awards.

Film selection is carried out through a curatorial process, based on artistic and thematic criteria, as well as the relationship of each work to the festival’s core focus.

Within its program, the festival may feature curated highlights and special screenings selected by the curatorial team.

Occasionally, institutional partnerships may be established to support special visibility and distribution initiatives for selected works, including collaborations with media outlets and audiovisual sector partners. The Zaragoza Film Festival was born in 1995 to create a cinematographic activity in the city. In principle its main denomination was that of Young Directors. As of 2007, its official name became the Zaragoza Film Festival.
