Short films in the early stages of development, including fiction, animation, documentary, or experimental genres, are presented to programmers, television channels, and international producers, with the best project awarded by a jury. This event aims to foster partnerships between Portuguese production companies and international decision-makers, focusing on short film projects. In addition to the pitching sessions, it is also a unique opportunity for producers and participants to hold informal meetings.
Additionally, the Blit – "In Development" Award will be presented to the best project, valued at 2,000 euros in post-production services, sponsored by Blit.

IN DEVELOPMENT - Curtas Vila do Conde IFF
This is an opportunity for filmmakers, producers, distributors, film schools, among others, to meet with programmers from the most important international film festivals. The goal of this meeting is to deepen the understanding of the specifics of each event and promote films within the international circuit. Meet the Festivals is part of the Curtas Pro section of the 33rd Curtas Vila do Conde IFF and is limited to 24 participants. In 2012, the San Sebastian Festival launched the first Europe-Latin America Co-Production Forum. Its priority objectives are to promote the development of audiovisual projects, encourage collaboration between professionals and enhance their access to new international markets.

SSIFF - Europe-Latin America Co-Production Forum
Platino Next Gen is a program organized by EGEDA aimed at emerging Ibero-American filmmakers and producers. It provides an opportunity for young talents to enhance their projects through intensive training, workshops, and individual consultations. Selected projects will also gain access to key industry events like the San Sebastián Film Festival and Iberseries & Platino Industria. Furthermore, participants will have the chance to present their projects to international distributors and platforms. The 2025 edition runs from April 1st to April 30th and is designed for feature films in development or pre-production.

Platino Next Gen
Residencia Feratum 2025 is an intensive lab for developing feature-length genre screenplays (horror, sci-fi, fantasy, thriller, dark comedy, etc.). It will take place in person from July 16 to 20, 2025, at Rancho Yapalpa, located between Tlalpujahua (Michoacán) and El Oro (State of Mexico), Mexico. The call is open until May 30, 2025. Up to 18 projects will be selected to receive personalized mentorship, workshops, and talks with industry professionals. The participation fee covers tuition, mentorship, talks, and shared accommodation during the four-day residency at Rancho Yapalpa. Scripts must be between 70 and 110 pages, written at least 80% in Spanish, and submitted under a pseudonym. Selected projects may access awards and support, including participation in Sitges FanPitch 2025 and the Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG) 2026.
